GL Golf has been updated to version 2.580 on the Mac App Store. We know it’s been four years and we’re sorry it took this long, we’ve been busy with two young boys and our growing maple syrup farm. Mac OS 10.14 Sonoma broke texture loading so we had to put something out, plus we’ve been wanting to release a native version for the new Apple Silicon Macs . We’re considering a small iOS update for GL Golf, and possibly getting some of our other games fixed/reinstated on both the Mac and iOS app stores if time permits. It’s hard to believe that GL Golf has been available for nearly 20 years now, keep on swinging!

Hello! I really enjoy the soundtrack of GL Golf– specifically the rendition of Black Orpheus (Samba de Orfeu). I have scoured the internet and game credits (and even used Shazam) in search of any information regarding the rendition used in the game (performance artist, recording label, etc.) but sadly, to no avail. I would so appreciate if you could enlighten me with this information (I am also curious about the tunes on the rest of the soundtrack– they are all so groovy!).
I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you for bringing us GL Golf!
Sincerely,
Lily Arovas
Hi Lily, I’m glad you’re enjoying the soundtrack! The first two songs, simply labeled song1.m4a and song2.m4a in the app package, were royalty free songs I downloaded for the game in 2004, now twenty years ago! I unfortunately have no other info on those. Refreshing.m4a and Strictly Latin.m4a were done by an electronic artist called Unborn, probably around 2007, from a small artist who did a few songs for a few games of ours. I wish I had more info for you, maybe you can dig something up, sorry!
