Nuclear Nova Software has released Hydrothermal Lite on the Mac App Store. This version of Hydrothermal is completely free, but is limited to twenty minute and has saving disabled. With Pinball Shuffle submitted to Apple for review and all of our other games updated, we’ve been working on our new golf game, Nova Golf. We’re going to push hard to finish in the first quarter of 2012, but with no hard deadlines, we’ll be taking Blizzard’s stance of  “done when it’s done” to ensure the game is of the highest quality.

One new feature we’ve been working on early this week is customizable ball/club sets. While everyone will have access to unlimited generic clubs and balls, higher quality balls and better clubs will require either in-game experience or real cash (for the impatient) to purchase. Be careful with those nice balls though, hit one in the water and it’s gone, just like real life!

We’ll post some screenshots when we can. Unfortunately we use placeholder graphics up until the last stages of the game, so while we may be making progress on gameplay the game often looks bad until we fix up the graphics at the end.

After almost six months of work, we’ve finally completed Pinball Shuffle! This morning we tied up all of the loose ends and submitted both Mac/iOS and Full/Lite versions to Apple for review. If all goes well, expect to see them on the app stores in a week or two. While we were happy with Pinball Massacre, Pinball Shuffle really takes the franchise to a new level. Everything is just better, all of our mistakes from the first board have been avoided and several new features have been added. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

In addition to the new table, we’ve also submitted a fairly hefty update for Pinball Massacre. The game should run much smoother and have more consistent physics along with some new features. Keep an eye out for a blog post with more details in a week or two.

Pinball Shuffle

Nuclear Nova Software has released Liquid Defense Lite on the Mac App Store. This version of Liquid Defense is completely free, but includes only four demo plus four regular levels. For all twenty-eight levels check out the full version of Liquid Defense, also available on the Mac App Store. Liquid defense is a unique puzzle game where you must eliminate all of the incoming water, gas and oil. Each of the levels is carefully designed to require innovative solutions while managing limited resources

While working on two new compilation courses (Hardest Holes Volume 2 and Easiest Holes), I stumbled upon my old course statistic database from 2007. I grabbed the latest set of data from my best rounds lists (Mac) and plugged it in, here are the results. Please forgive the ugly formatting, it’s not worth the effort to improve but I do feel that it is worth sharing.

GL Golf has been updated to version 2.351 on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and is now live on the iTunes App Store. Unfortunately due to new incompatibilities between old and new devices, GL Golf is now limited to iOS 4.1+. This removes support for second generation devices, including the iPhone 3G. All users running iOS 4.x are highly encouraged to upgrade to 5.x, especially if they experience trouble aiming and switching clubs.
