It took almost ten years, but GL Golf has an actual golfer model! We’re tweaking all of the visuals now, but it’s essentially done for the 2.35 update coming next week for the Mac, and later this month for the iPhone.

Nova Golf Club Flight Paths
Today I’ve been working on the physics system for the new golf game, which has acquired a working title of “Nova Golf”. This system should be a big improvement over GL Golf. Everything including wind, backspin, fade/draw, different surface lies, lie angles, surface firmness/speed, and more are all accurately modeled. The game will still be enjoyable for the casual golfer, but the pros are going to have a much more difficult time consistently shooting double digit under par rounds as compared to GL Golf.
Here are some of the current flight paths, though I still have some tweaking left to do!
Golf News
We’ve been busy with Pinball lately, but we haven’t forgotten about golf! Today work resumed on the sequel to GL Golf. The new game will be rewritten from scratch with more modern graphics and a more realistic physics system, while maintaining the ease of play found in GL Golf. Speaking of GL Golf, the next update in mid-October will have an actual golfer model! So far we have some of the terrain, water, and sky rendering along with the menus, but there is still much work to be done. Stay tuned for more updates and a screenshot or two.

Second Pinball Table Underway
The Pinball Massacre team didn’t go on permanent vacation after being approved on the app stores, we’ve actually been hard at work on the second table and fixing some bugs for the September 1.01 release. Check out this early developer screenshot to get an idea of what the table will look like. We’ve learned a lot from the first table, expect this one to be even better!
