LOG IN AND GL CLASSIC HOLE 4 - BUGS?

Post by neilgbarclay » Tue Sep 09, 2008 3:02 am

Two items, Jakovichi, neither of which, I admit, may be a bug:

First, every time I log in I check the box that tells me I will be logged in automatically with every future visit. This never happens. I have to log in every time. Why have it there if it never works?

Second: the curved-arrow indicator (pressing the "C" key) on GL Classic Course, hole 4, tells me I CAN make it to the island in the middle of the lake (barring a strong wind against me, of course), but I've never made it no matter what the wind conditions are, even with the most powerful swing possible. I consider this mis-indication a bug. Is it? And if so, can it corrected to be more accurate - either way.

By the way, I love the "night" option. Great for romantic couples. So, when do you plan to provide my partner for tee-time trysts? Sometimes, though, I suspect preternatural creatures hovering behind the trees to move my ball - or worse!

Best Regards,

Your Friendly Legend

I'm guessing there is something wrong with your cookies that is preventing your automatic login.

The indicator is just a suggestion, and is in no way the exact flight of the path. The ball will always hit and roll a little bit, so if you want to land where the indicator shows then you will probably need to add a club or two.

I'm glad you like the night mode, I'll be improving it in one of the next versions to actually get darker from hole to hole

Ah, Jake, you cyberweasel,

I should have known you'd have a legitimate excuse. Yeah, I erase all cookies every time I close Safari. Mea Culpa. So who knew? To this dummy a cookie is a thin thing in a jar with chocolate chips and coconut (the cookie, not the jar).

Getcha on the "indicator". I'll just quit trying.

Now as for the stars and moon: the stars are way too big! The moon is okay, except the wrong shape - I've spooned under a harvest moon, but never an oval one.

Making these things smaller should take up less space, shoudn't it?

I do like the idea of getting darker as one moves through a course. Unless I have to use a flashlight to find the final green.

Truth to tell, one of the many reasons I gave up real golf is because I could never find the bloody ball, even in broad daylight - not in flight; not after landing. Besides, weeds give me hay fever.

Right now the texture for the sky is 1024x1024, and each star is 1x1 pixel. If I wanted to make the stars smaller I would have to raise the already large texture to 2048x2048, which might not even be supported on some computers.

I know how you feel losing balls, I've been steadily losing them all summer!
