Regarding "Hardest Holes coming soon":
What is your definition of soon, old sod?
You begin to sound like a proctologists waiting room. Pun intended.

FORGIVE IF I'M NOT THE FIRST
DEAR J. QUESTIONS: WHY IS IT THAT ON SOME HOLES (SUCH AS GL CLASSIC #9), WHEN I'M OBVIOUSLY ON THE GREEN, I AM DENIED THE USE OF THE PUTTER? ON OTHER HOLES, WHERE I'M OBVIOUSLY IN THE ROUGH (EXAMPLES ABOUND, BUT I'M NOT GOOD AT KEEPING NOTES), I'M GIVEN THE OPTION OF THE PUTTER - ON SEVERAL OCCASION...

MANY APOLOGIES
I still hold to the more than "1" rating theory, but I got carried away after a frustrating round and spouted off. There are about three course I skip most of the time - almost always easier ones. (Augusta, though, has eluded my mulliganized expertise so far, also.) You do good work which I very muc...

Beauregard Course
Jacobivitchi:
You leave that damned B Course (see Subject) at one and I'll never play it again!
Who judges these things? - it should either be a 3, or change the damned greens.
Any more of this sort of BS and I'm going back to Solitaire!
Aggravation has no bounds, but frustration has its limits.

Ich sprach zu früh
Ah, mea culpa.
I spoke before I'd played any of the other courses.
I think I like the changes.
Final news at 11.

NEW COURSE COMMENTS
Again,Jocko me boyo, there's a problem with the rating on this course. It should be a 2. Why? The greens are among the more difficult. Half of them I don't even try to putt, but use the pitching wedge. A contrast is the "Isle South" course where the greens are a snap, mostly. Also, I agree, there's ...

To Jake & Sapphie: I guess I agree about the gimmie. I must have played with real duffers. If they hit the green on their 9th shot, it was a gimmie. I mean, we do have the edifying precedent of one of our recent Presidents! I'm always embarrassed when I miss so close. I appreciate your sentiment, th...

About that hole
Whenever I almost make a put, I get an embarrassing "whooooo" from some offscreen crowd. I submit that a "whoooo" ought to amount to what we duffers refer to as a "gimme." We should, therefore, not be penalized a stroke for the mini-put that is left. In short, a "whooooo" should count as having sunk...

NEW COURSE AND SPIN
Okay, Mr. Jake: Gotcha. I know you told me about the new course schedule before, but I am anamnestically other-abled. The bit about the spin is borne out by my experience. I'm in the habit of using full-blast spin and wondered about the eratic results. Henceforth, my spins shall be appropriately dis...

NEW COURSE ? AND ONE OLD PROBLEM
Long time, no see.
Isn't it about time for that new course I signed up for?
Problem: the "wind" effect seems to disappear when I put a "spin" on the ball. It seems to be eratic, anyway, i.e., how that wind factor comes into play.
Please advise.

#9 and rising
Mr. Motto say, "velly nice upglade." The slowdown on the swing-power bar is really a help. And getting rid of that damn crowd is ever so nice. Now I don't have to wonder who goosed the canary every time I get an eagle. I only played about three holes of the new course. Whoo! What a bugger - but it l...

Gimmie - a break
Jake and Redmelons: I shall not continue the debate because I am ignorant of the real definition. I was always of the impression, though, that gimmies didn't count; but I assume that depends upon where you are and with whom you are playing (read cheating.) Of course, after Bill "Mulligan" Clinton, a...

BRILLIANT IDEA !
Oh Jacko me boy, Here I be again with another nifty idea. Except for the pros, we others need a "gimmie" option. It would work something like this: if the putt lands within 2 or 3 inches of the hole, a "gimmie" key could be activated (say "g") and we would be sent to the next hole without being pena...

ONCE MORE, WITH FEELING
El Jacko, I know I have become a public nuisance, but I promise this is my last suggestion. Thanks for the reposponse to the crowd-noise issue, by the way. I have one more suggestion, based, I assure you, upon my own lamentable experience. You need to find a way to have us "top" the ball. I surmise ...
CLAP TRAP
Forgive the pun (Subject) Could we, by any chance, old sod, in update #8, have the option of turning off only the crowd noise when birdies and eagles are (rarely) achieved. At least it would be pleasant to get rid of whoop of the dude in the "eagle group" who's excitement sounds like he gets goosed ...

CLUB DISTANCE
I happen to agree with your primary goal. Neither real Golf nor cyber Golf should be without the necesstity of constant practice. Actually, having attempted the real thing, it seems impossible ever to be certain of the power behind a given swing. Not even the best of pros can manage it all that cons...

CLUB DISTANCE
From the beginning, I have been bothered by the extremely short time we're given to choose the club distance for a shot. My reflexes are no longer fast enough to choose the exact distance, not to mention the lathargic reaction of my somewhat elderly keybord. Doubtless, in your design, you have in mi...

INTERNSHIP AND DIFFICULTY RATING
Two unrelated topics: 1) I didn't realize internship applied to golf. So that's how Tiger Woods did it, huh? 2) Whoever rated the difficulty of that new course 1 out of 5 is nuts (SA Jubilee). The fairways may be easy, but, like Augusta, the greens are tricky enough for at least a 3 rating. I do thr...

BACKSPIN AND WIND
I may be imagining things, but it seems that there are two inconsistencies from one course to the next: 1) the amoung of "bite" on the ball using the "back spin" feature (there never seems to be enough); and 2) the effect of wind on the flight of the ball, especially the 7mph side wind. Any validity...
MISC - BUG REPORT
Thanks Jacko, I'm glad you found the critter - I'd begun to think that my Tiger had run out of, uh, gas. As for Apple, I hope your prognosis regarding their chronic delayitis is correct. I keep forgetting that you folks are on Mac only. I should think that if they delay past October there are some b...
