Not Able to Update Nova Golf and Disc Golf 3D

Recently some users have had issues updating Nova Golf and Disc Golf 3D on the Mac App Store. The error says “Nova Golf app doesn’t support this computer’s graphics hardware”. Today we received word from Apple that this is a know issue and is being worked on. Sorry for the inconvenience, if you are receiving this message please wait patiently for Apple to resolve the issue.

From Apple – “Thank you for contacting Apple Developer Technical Support (DTS). Our engineers have reviewed your request and have determined that you are experiencing a known bug for which there is no known workaround at this time. Although this is a known issue, we urge you to file your own bug report via Apple Bug Reporter (http://bugreport.apple.com). Bug reports will be routed to the team that is working on this issue, and will help them judge its impact, and prioritize a fix.”

  1. Tried to restart computer after above problem. Now states that Nova Golf is damaged. Cannot get into it or even re-download from app store.Appears that the problem damaged the software.

    1. Probably the same issue, I’d keep trying it every day or so and hopefully it works. The Mac App Store is great when it works, but it’s frustrating when it doesn’t and we don’t have alternative methods of distribution in place

  2. Just got a reply from Apple – “We believe this issue has been addressed in the latest OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Seed Build. Please test with this release, and update this report with your results.”

I’m not able to test on 10.9.2, but as soon as it comes out I would assume it will be fixed

    1. Any new update on progress?… I appreciate your diligence on these issues. am going stir crazy without my golf fix! no offense but after playing nova golf for so long, can’t seem to enjoy GL golf.

      1. Unfortunately this one is in Apples court now. They don’t like to update their OS often, so they are still testing 10.9.2. Until they release it there is nothing we can do unless you have another Mac that can download Nova Golf, then you can transfer it to your current Mac after the other one downloads it

        1. was afraid you’d say that. Bothers me that apple seems to do this kind of thing. To be aware of a problem but still release a product that is going to screw a certain percentage of people is big business at it’s best (worst)! Good luck!

  3. I like the new updates to the Disc Golf. The addition of the random hole order option is great, however…the scorecard doesn’t record the scores accurately. Not a big problem but I thought I should mention it.

      1. No matter what you shot on the hole, it sometimes shows you scored a zero. As a result the running tally of how many up or down you are is all skewed. Sometimes it shows a – or + figure, sometimes an arrow up or down.

    1. Great! Apple kept sending me emails asking if the issue was fixed, and I kept telling them to release the update and I’d let them know! I’m glad you’re back to golfing, enjoy!

  4. Looks like I will have to re-download because after updating Maverics ( to 10.9.2), I get the message “Nova golf is damaged. Delete and re-download.” If I restore purchases, will this allow me to download again without paying?

    1. Everything but consumables are restorable (experience and credits you’ve bought are consumable). It should be stored on your computer though, if you just delete the .app file and re-download it should pickup where you left off

      1. Everything seems back to normal except I no longer can play barnyard blaster. Software says that I must purchase course package(which I already did long ago) but when I go back to pro shop, shows it is purchased. I was in the middle of playing when problems began( before Apple problem) but won’t let me proceed. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

        Thanks,
        Mike N.

        1. This appears to be a bug. The 1.11 update had been delayed longer than I wanted it to, but the good news is it’s almost finished so I should have it out and you’ll have access to the Barnyard Blaster open again
