 Project Red Guidelines
Yes, the METAL group project will hereafter be referred to as Red for lack of a better name. Maybe all later projects can be named after colors also. Remember, IT'S ONLY A CODE NAME.
What You Should Have
-METAL v1.7.3 (required) - If it's updated while we're developing, upgrade.
-Some experience with METAL (required) - All you really need to know is how the language works at a basic level. You can learn the rest during the course of development or just read the tutorial on nuclearnova.com's METAL section.
-A text editor (required)
-Email (preferred) - Naturally, we need to pass messages.
-AIM or ICQ (preferred) - Passing messages is easier with instant messenging.
What You Should Know
-Basic sprite workings - How to draw them, load them, kill them, etc. Make sure you know what all of the sprite commands do.
-Basic file handling - understanding of open file, fread, fwrite, and close file should suffice.
-Basic understanding of all variable types, including arrays
Use of True/False
Let's use 1 and 0, not -1 and 0. I don't understand why Marin did this. Besides, I've had trouble with setting boolean values in the past.

Is it gonna be opensource, at least to all those working on it? Or do we each just get our own piece to look at and work on?

What I plan to do is assign each person a segment to write and maintain. It'll be open source to those working on it, but people shouldn't just go and compile their own versions. People should give other people suggestions and little modifications, but you should only initially write what you are assigned.

it should be 100% open source, I still dont understand why shareware and freeware makers are so protective of there code. Escape is open source, and I don't care if someone downloads and compiles the source themselfs.

 Re: Project Red Guidelines
I explained why these are helpful in another of my posts here. Read it and you might decide it's OK.
