Post graphing?
I'm making (for my first project) a calculator. It's loaded with useless stuff (well, it's not exactly useless, just stuff that you wouldn't find on a calculator) like music and it asks your name so it gives you a personal goodbye when you quit.
Now I'm wondering if there's a way I could make it have a graphing calculator thing (so they enter the equation and the calculator draws circles or something for points)
I'm sure I could figure out how they enter the equation, but the program pulling it apart so it knows what to draw would be the hard part.

You definitely could somehow, but it might be some work. You would have to write lots of code to pull apart what the user enters, check to see if they entered something correctly, and then somehow evaluate it. I've been programming for a long time and I don't know how to do that off the top of my head, I bet it would be pretty tough to do.

If you need more help I recommend going here - http://www.idevgames.com/forum/ , its an active mac programming forum.
