Jake, does the San Jacinto course have anything to do with San Jacinto, California?

Re: Version 2.35
GL GOLF figure.tiff Hi, Jake- I like the new golfer, too, but he sure dresses funny. Is it only on my computer that he looks like that? I've also notice the head-blocking-the-ball problem on long puts, but I see you're fixing that. I like the new Inverness course, too. Thank you once again for your...

Can we move the ball around on the Driving Range?
I notice that the Practice Range has many sand traps located at different angles around the practice greens. It'd sure be nice if—as at a real practice facility—you could play shots from wherever you want, i.e., different sand shots and shots from different down slope, up slope, and side-hill lies. ...

Re: GL Golf Tips/Strategies
Hi there Jack Clark, Regarding the double-eagle on the 10th at San Jacinto which you 'stumbled across', perhaps you might share your good fortune and knowhow, I can only manage an eagle on that hole by hitting sideways with a 3 iron with 2 degrees of loft, 3 of draw and 5 of backspin in a gap betwe...

Re: GL Golf Tips/Strategies
I've often marveled at the low scores guys like d@ve are posting. Like on San Jacinto, e.g., some guys have posted scores that average under two strokes per hole. Inconceivable. So, in addition to practicing hitting the sweet spot consistently, I figured that these guys must be doing a whole lot of ...

Re: *** GL Golf Suggestions ***
Jak Thanks very much for Sawgrass! Great for us realistic-course lovers. I'll be spending the whole of next week at the PGA tournament at Torrey Pines, so will be playing that course on GL Golf a few extra times before then, too. My nomination for the next realistic course: Bethpage State Park Golf ...

Re: *** GL Golf Suggestions ***
Thanks, Jake. Making the Road Hole bunker a real pot bunker will help a lot. I kinda figured the structural stuff would be off limits since I didn't remember seeing any on any other GL Golf course, but that's okay. The new Old Course is very fun to play, with its old-fashioned bunker placements.

Re: *** GL Golf Suggestions ***
Hey, Jake- I just played the Old Course and it was great fun! Not the trickiest layout, of course, but it really has the feel of the old place. Thanks very much for this one! Now, . . . I don't know how you and your course designers feel about famous landmarks, but there are a few, which are actuall...

Re: *** GL Golf Suggestions ***
Hi, Jake- Hey, thanks for adding the Old Course at St. Andrews! I can hardly wait to get home tonight to upgrade. Love those "real" courses you have. TPC Sawgrass, where The Players Championship is held every May, would be a great addition, also, so that's my vote for the next one. Just curious: Why...

Is there a way to pick up on a hole?
Sometimes I come across a green that I consider unputtable, and all I want to do then is pick up and move to the next tee. Is there a way to do this? If so, I haven't found it, and I sometimes spend one or two minutes slapping the ball around until I get in in the hole so I can move on. I'd much rat...

Re: *** GL Golf Suggestions ***
So, Jake, since we don't have a St. Andrews Old Course after all, I certainly cast my vote for that one as a new addition. It is, of course, the home of golf and a mecca that attracts players from all over the globe. It also ought to be easier for you to design because there are only 11 separate gre...

Re: *** GL Golf Suggestions ***
As for the water dropping, I think I know how to fix that, I'll add it to my too do list. Jake, the part where I mentioned dropping on the green side of a water hazard only if the ball hits the bank on the green side and then comes back into the water? I oversimplified during that discussion. That ...

Re: *** GL Golf Suggestions ***
Jake, some of the earlier courses have always bothered me in the sense that the putting greens appeared to be on an island with no visible access except by swimming from the fairway out to the hole. Well, Jake could just add a little row boat in the graphics somewhere, maybe? The greens that...

Re: The number of clubs for expert and pro.
Thanks for the suggestion Jack. While that is true for real golf, I think I'll stick with the lower club limits because it makes GL Golf more difficult and forces players to use clubs a little different. Okay. I guess I'll try to look at it as an odd round where the players agree to use only a few ...

Re: The super-low scores players are shooting.
Jake, I know we have talked about this before, but George Hallas' round at ST Andrews old course defy's all odds. A 32! The only way to shoot a 32 is to have a long holeout at all 18 holes! 4 shots for the 4 par threes, 24 shots for the 12 par fours and 4 shots for the two par Fives. This time ther...

Re: The super-low scores players are shooting.
Personally, I try to get as close to the hole as possible and have gotten quite good with the 120 yard wedge and a little backspin. I'm pretty good with the 120-yard wedge and some backspin, too . . . when I'm 120 yards from the hole. It's when I'm 100 yards away . . . or 90 . . or 80 . . . or 70 ....

Re: *** GL Golf Suggestions ***
As far as going into a water hazard is concerned, almost every time I do that GL Golf gives me a one stroke penalty and drops my ball on the green side of the water hazard . This lets me off too easily. It should not happen unless my ball landed on the green side of the water hazard and trickled bac...

Re: Irksome error on the score card . . .
Hi, Jake-
The menu page says the version is 2.24. And when I click on Check for Updates, it tells me that I am up to date with version 2.241.
I thought I did have the latest version. I'm subscribed up through course no. 32, but maybe that's a different thing.
So . . . what do I need to do?
