Re: Version 2.21 - Tournament

Thanks Jake. I have renamed my preferences file and re-entered my serial number. GL Golf starts fine and will let me play, but when I select 'tournament from the main window I get 'Loading ...' and a continuos spinning wheel on the Tournament Best rounds window and the 'Play Tournament' button doesn...

Re: Version 2.21 - Tournament

Aargh, now after returning to the main screen and pressing 'Resume Game' I am sked to submit my score and GL Golf thinks I have played another round :(

Version 2.21 - Tournament

After downloading the 2.21 update yesterday, I went straight to 'tournament', but received the message 'Please use the Resume Game button'. I went back to the main screen and tried again and managed to play the first round of the tournament. After having a fairly decent round (for me :D ) of several...

Tournament Best Rounds Corruption

Every time I finish a tournament round and display the 'Best rounds' screen, the text is corrupt: http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s11/redmelons/best_rounds.jpg If I go back to the main menu, then re-display the Best rounds, the corruption is fixed. Is this because I use a 1024x768 screen mode (li...

Re: QUAINT IDEA

IMHO a computer simulation game (which I think GL Golf is) tries to simulate as closely as possible the real world game. When playing golf in the real world (I should point out that I have never actually played real golf :D ) there are no finely graded markings available to enable the player to gaug...

Re: GL Golf Beta Program

Thanks Jake - tournament is a great idea and will increase the incentive to play. I know we're not supposed to do it ;) ... but attempting to play a further tournament round within the same day produces a 'Please wait at least one day ...' message, and also a never-ending 'Loading ...' and spinning ...

High Score window too large

Version 2.08 has a new high score window which requires buttons to be clicked rather than just being able to hit <Return> to enter the latest score. I use a 1024 x 768 screen mode (the largest my monitor can display) and the buttons at the bottom of the high score window appear behind my dock and ca...

Jargon-busting: Gimme A ‘gimme’ - short for "give it to me" - is a putt conceded by an opponent at his discretion when he does not think there is any chance you will miss. The putt would be too close and too simple to make you go through the motions of finishing the hole. Only in matchplay golf is ...

Aargh! I don't usually use the replay feature, but after hitting a hole in one at hole 9 of San Jacinto I couldn't resist it. :) Guess what? Yep, on the replay the ball trickles past the hole and 'For Eagle' comes up!

Could the code be changed so that a replay can't change the result?

Last Course Played

In the Main Menu, if 'Random Course' is selected, is it possible for GL Golf to remember that selection instead of the last course played please? I like to play a sequence of random courses, but have to go back and select 'Random Course' each time.

Internet scores

How come all the high scores on the internet score tables are in the region of -26 or so? Is it really possible to go around these courses using less than three strokes per hole? It's quite dispiriting for someone like me who is chuffed if he achieves par for the course :)
